Receive the prophets and their followers for what they are, not requiring them to be something else

Of True Of False

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature.

Every plant which my Father hath not planted shall be rooted up…they be blind leaders of the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place.

…clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots.

We also are men of like passions with you.

Thou wast altogether born in sin, and does thou teach us? And they cast him out.

The man that trusteth in the Lord… shall be as a tree planted by the waters…and shall not see when heat cometh…neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord…he shall not see when good cometh.

Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? ..For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you.

If I speak the truth, why do ye not believe me

They are of the world: therefore they speak of the world, and the world heareth them.

Who are thou to judge another man’s servant? To his own master he standeth or faileth. Yea,…God is able to make him stand.

This man seeketh not the welfare of the people, but the hurt.

In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and Earth; some to honour, and some to dishonour.

All the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye [that is Moses] above the congregation of the LORD [that is, Korah and various famous men]?

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not where he goes because darkness hath blinded his eyes.

I hate him, for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.
